Ulfric~Wolf King: Generally an alpha male, but occasionally an alpha female, Ulfric is the highest rank in a pack. Challenges for this position are always to the death.
Lupa~Ulfric's Queen and Mate: The mate of the Ulfric. This rank cannot be challenged for; it may only be decided by the Ulfric. Freyja~Ulfric's Queen: When a Lupa wishes to mate with other werewolves instead of the Ulfric, she becomes Frejya through an elaborate ceremony.
Fenrir~challenger: Someone who challenges the right of the Ulfric to lead. They generally fight the Ulfric for dominance of the pack, and get to choose their lupa.
Bolverk~torturer: The Bolverk does what the Ulfric doesn't have the guts to do. They are allowed three assistants: Baugi, Suttung, and Guunlod.
Sköll~enforcer: The Ulfric's bodyguard and enforcer.
Hati~enforcer: The Ulfric's other bodyguard and enforcer.
Geri~second: The Ulfric's second in command, and second in line for the throne.
Freki~third: The Ulfric's third in command, and third in line for the throne.
Vargamor~witch: An old-fashioned position, the vargamor is a human witch or psychic. Almost always female, she is neutral in all fights. Many packs no longer have one.
Eros/Eranthe~Love Tutors: Since lycanthropes are much stronger than humans, they can end up seriously injuring them during sex, or even shifting on top of them and tearing them to pieces. An Eros or Eranthe teaches the lycanthrope to be careful, acting as a sexual surrogate.

Gelo Nero Clan(Pard)
Nimir-Raj/Nimir-Ra~Leopard King/Queen: A leader of the pard. Both are rare, but are destined to be each other's mate. Not all pards have them. "You are my Nimir-Ra, and I am your Nimir-Raj... Leopard Lionne~lion rampant: A leader of the pard who is not a king or queen, but both leads and protects. A protector, and sometimes an avenger. Under a leader like this, the leopards can feel more confident.
Leopard Passant~sleeping lion: A leader of the pard who is not a king or queen, but only leads and does not protect. Under a leader like this, the leopards are anyone's meat, and often become scared and distrusting.
Khabar~Guardian: A female guardian to the Nimirs.
Himayati~Guardian: A male guardian to the Nimirs.
Insaf~second The pard's second in command, and second in line for the throne - usually only present in the case of a Nimir-Ra(j).
Tarna~third The pard's third in command, and third in line for the throne - usually only present in the case of a Nimir-Ra(j).
Uttara~Left: Advisor to the Nimir-Ra.
Upayukta~Right: Advisor to the Nimir-Raj.

Rom/Romni~Rat King/Queen: A leader of the rodere. The mate of the Rom is considered Romni, much like the Lupa of the werewolves, and the mate of the Romni is considered Rom.
Nevimos~challenger: Someone who challenges the right of the Rom/Romni to lead.
Dura~second: The Rom/Romni's second in command.
Vitsa~third: The Rom/Romni's third in command.
Chava~guard/adviser: The Rom's bodyguard/adviser.
Chavi~guard/adviser: The Romni's bodyguard/adviser.

Rex~Lion King: Lions are a patriarchal species, and are therefore almost always led by a Rex.
Regina~Lion Queen: Similar to the Lupa of the wolves.
Acerbus~challenger: Someone who challenges the right of the Rex/Regina to lead. They generally fight the Rex for dominance of the pack, and get to choose their Regina. It is also customary for invading Rex's to kill off the children of the previous Rex, though some Rexes do not follow this creed.
Credo~second: The Rex/Regina's second-in-command.
Vigilo~Regina's bodyguard: Regina's personal guard, usually female. Highly skilled in defensive combat.
Umbra~Rex's bodyguard: Rex's personal guard, usually male. Highly skilled in defensive combat and/or strategy.
Verum~counsel: One of three pride members charged with final say in decisions the Rex or Regina either can't or won't make on their own.
Iudex~counsel: One of three pride members charged with final say in decisions the Rex or Regina either can't or won't make on their own.
Iustitia~counsel: One of three pride members charged with final say in decisions the Rex or Regina either can't or won't make on their own.

The San Diego Kiss (Vampires)
Master of the City: A master vamipre who is in control of a city or area. Lesser vampires must ask permission to come into this vampire's territory. Other masters make arrangements, otherwise it is considered an act of war. The Council tells the master that they are coming, but they do not need to ask permission. See below.
Stalking-Horse: A vampire who pretends to be the master of the city to keep challengers away from the real master. This vampire is believed to be the master of the city by those outside of the city (otherwise it wouldn't work well, would it?).
Témoin: A second in command to the Master of the City.
Pomme de Sang: Literally, 'apple of blood'. This is usually a human or a lycanthrope of the species the Master vampire can call, and is there to be breakfast. (Note: all Master vampires can take a pomme de sang, not just the Master of the City).
Human Servant: A human that is bonded magically with a master vampire. The process takes four 'marks', and depending on how many marks you have, you and your master gain different powers.
